The Maple Ridge Community Bands
The Maple Ridge Concert Band (MRCB) is a community association made up of over 75 members of all ages and musical abilities between the Performance, Intermediate, and All Beginners Concert band groups.
Our mission is to provide a friendly atmosphere for all our members. We strive to promote the performing arts and share our musical camaraderie and enthusiasm within our community and beyond.
The MRCB was established in 1946 and became a registered non-profit society in October of 1991. The band is always seeking and accepting new members of all ages and musical abilities.
Each of the three bands plays a variety of music. From symphonic works to traditional hymns, from dixieland to Sousa marches, from broadway musicals to big band swing, the members enjoy pushing the envelope and discovering new works. The bands continue to expand their repertoire tackling challenging pieces for the formal concerts and festivals they perform at. The many community events they participate in allow them to vary their play list to suit the occasion. Visit our events page to see a concise listing of some of the events the bands perform at.
The MRCB Performance Band is conducted by Musical Director Dr. John Van Deursen. MRCB Intermediate Band is conducted by Musical Director Ms. Geeta Das. The All Beginners Band is conducted by Musical Director Ms. Geeta Das.
