THE MAPLE RIDGE CONCERT BAND
A Community Association Since 1946
Performance Band
The Performance Band is the most experienced group of the three bands that comprise the Maple Ridge Concert Band group and as such it has been in existence for over 75 years. This group is an excellent home for accomplished adult and student musicians.
The music is challenging, yet fun and exciting. The Performance Band performs in several formal concerts and/or festivals each year, as well as numerous less formal events such as parades and community activities.
This highly awarded group rehearses each Tuesday beginning at 7:30 pm from September to June with conductor Dr. John van Deursen. Through the month of July this band also performs their free Twilight Tuesday - Pops in the Park concert series in the Memorial Peace Park Bandstand. They encourage visiting and alumni musicians to join them by sitting in and playing with them for this concert series. This 25+ year musical tradition was one of the main reasons the Maple Ridge Concert Band built and donated the Peace Park Bandstand to the community.
