New MRCB Youth Bands!
Maple Ridge Concert Band is excited to announce the creation of two new Youth Bands in Maple Ridge, just for teen players. These two groups will meet at The ACT Maple Ridge beginning in September of 2017.
MRCB Youth Concert Bands are just for youth aged 11-16 and are an excellent addition to school-based programs. The MRCB Youth Bands offer students another excellent place to play and learn. Students who want more playing time can find what they need in the MRCB Youth Program. Students who want a chance to play another instrument in a concert band setting may also find the MRCB Youth Bands valuable. As well, this is a fantastic opportunity for students who do not have access to a band program in their own school and would like to begin playing a musical instrument!
Registration cost for the courses will be $100.00 per term. We will be fall, winter, and spring term sessions for each class. Class size will be limited to 30 students. Information will be made available prior to the first class to help students with instrument choice and the process of finding an instrument, especially for new players.
We will hold a small performance on the last class for parents. As well, students may be invited to participate in a Maple Ridge Concert Band evening performance. Registration for these groups will be done through Maple Ridge Parks and Leisure Services. Registration can be done in person at the Leisure Centre, or by visiting RecReg4u.ca
The classes will be taught by award winning conductor and teacher, Ed Dumas, B.Ed., M.A.Ed. Click HERE to read Ed Dumas' bio.
